| Hey guys, I was wondering what everyonce's FOV(field of view) is. I recently fucked up my Tribes and it reset my FOV to (I think) 0(or 100). It used to be something like 120. My shootings seems alot more accurate now especially at close range. Pretty weird since I played with high FOV for the past couple years :/. But my question is, what is everyonce's FOV? P.s.: What is the code for setting your FOV again? I thought it was: $pref("playerfov=100"); but that didnt work. | |

| I used to use 120, but started using 114 a few weeks ago because I can shoot easier at closer ranges, but I still can see around me good too.
Well you need to add/edit this to your autoexec.cs $Pref::playerFov = "(Number you want)";
And you also need to add/edit this to your ClientPrefs.cs $pref::PlayerFov = "(Number you want)";
If you do it in both it should work.

| Ah thanks for that CoZa:). I see everyonces FOV is pretty high. I might put it a little higher cus now I dont see very far and my nades are far less acurate then with high FOV. | |

| I've stuck with the default fov for a long time. Occasionally I will put it up a little bit, never tried to play consistent with anything under 90. It is fun to bind the mouse wheel to lower and higher your fov and test them out.

| I use 90, the default. I don't see the point of increasing your FOV. | |

| I don't know how, so I guess it's 90 as well. | |

| Tax,
I think I had talked to you before about this before, but I used to use 120 and I thought it was godly... then later on after a while of using it I realized the higher I had it the more warped other players grendades looked coming towards me. I'd get damaged by a gren that looked way off. I'd say anything between 108-113 is best, imo. Then again, I guess it differs depending on each persons monitor, especially if it's widescreen.

FOV = Field of vision/view, however you want to say it; basically it just adjusts the angles you see everything at. For instance, if you set your FOV to 120, compare how it looks to default 90; you will see much more from the east - west and north - south axis. But, the higher your FOV is, the more distorted your view will look. If you want to play around with it in game, press the ~ (below the Esc Button) to open up your console, and put this code in: $pref::playerFov = "120"; Of course though, you can change the 120 number to anything. I don't suggest going lower than 90 though, otherwise it gets hard to see haha. Definitely try it out though Anti, because the more you see on your screen the better, just avoid the distortion look (unless you like it). Good luck!
